The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us here in Concord and Carlisle (and worldwide) to think creatively about how we can help one another. Our CCACE teachers and students are among those creative thinkers and doers!
We are excited to announce a new initiative — CCACE’s Buy One/Donate One Mask Project to benefit the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest.
The machine washable, lined face masks are made from 100% cotton and are made by CCACE students and teachers in studios throughout Concord and Carlisle. For each mask purchased, one mask will be donated to the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest, along with the net proceeds from each mask sale. The Chest has received requests for masks from local residents, especially the elderly.
These machine-washable masks are lined; both interior and exterior are made of 100% cotton. The size is standard and fit most.
Orders will be dropped off weekly on your porch for Concord and Carlisle residents on Fridays. Residents outside of these towns may contact us to arrange a porch pickup in Concord. At this time, we are not shipping any orders.
We are excited to initially offer 3 designs: Concord Grapes, Little Women and Lined Cotton Masks.
If you would like either a Concord Grapes or Little Women mask, the cost is $20 which will buy two masks, one for you and one to be donated, along with the proceeds.
If you would prefer the Ornamental print mask, the cost is $15 which will buy two masks, one for you and one to be donated, along with the proceeds.
Due to a shortage of materials right now, the type of elastic may vary from mask to mask. Patterns on the Ornamental print masks and lining colors also vary. We are unable to accept custom requests. We have made an attempt to select gender-neutral patterns and all linings are solid colors. The two large pleats allow for easy adjustment on the face and a small hidden wire sewn into the top can be used to mold along your nose (important for those of you who wear glasses!) The CDC suggests that all Americans wear masks or face coverings in public to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Our small team in Concord and Carlisle is sewing and completing orders as quickly & safely as possible.
