True Islam: Understanding our Community

On Wednesday, March 7th, CCACE in partnership with Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Concord-Carlisle Human Rights Council, and First Parish in Concord presented True Islam: Understanding our Community. Concord resident Nasir Rana and members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community hosted thirty local residents, including Concord Chief of Police Joseph O’Connor for True Islam: what it is, and how to counter ignorance about the world’s second largest religion. We were joined by Imam Salman Tariq and members of the Muslim Community for breakfast and a lively discussion.

The True Islam and the Extremists campaign seeks to spread Islam’s message of peace. Extremists like ISIS depend on people’s ignorance of Islam in order for them to grow. The more people know about Islam’s true teachings – and what Muslims truly believe – the less they’ll fall for ISIS’s propaganda. Learn more about the campaign at www.trueislam.com.

CCACE works with local organizations and the community to present a variety of educational programs to the residents of Concord and Carlisle. If you have an idea for a future program, contact us at ace@concordps.org!
